The skill is built for Anthropic's Claude and depends on the Ahrefs MCP integration exclusive to Claude — used in Phases 1, 2, 5 and 6 for SERP overviews, KD/MSV, and per-keyword ranking lookups. Running it elsewhere produces generic keyword lists with no competitive classification, no SERP validation, and no Missing/Weak/Strong/Hidden buckets.

What inputs does the skill ask for?
Just four — a seed keyword, your client/brand name, and three competitor names. The skill asks for them one by one so you don't have to format them upfront.
Why must this run on Claude specifically?
The skill depends on Claude's long-context reasoning and the Ahrefs MCP integration exclusive to Claude. Phases 1, 2, 5 and 6 lean heavily on live Ahrefs SERP data, KD/MSV, and per-keyword ranking lookups. Running the prompts in ChatGPT or Gemini removes the live SEO data layer and produces unfiltered, unranked lists.
Do I need Ahrefs to use this skill?
Yes — Ahrefs with MCP enabled is required. The full pipeline relies on Ahrefs for Matching Terms, Related Terms (Also Rank For + Also Talk About), per-keyword SERP overview, and competitor ranking lookups. Without it, Phases 1, 2 and 5 cannot run.
How are Missing, Weak, Strong and Hidden defined?
Missing — client is unranked (rank 101) and at least one competitor ranks in the top 10. Weak — client ranks worse than 10 but is on the SERP, while a competitor is in the top 10. Strong — client already ranks in the top 10. Hidden — none of the above apply, surfacing niche opportunities none of the four players own yet.
What does the Emerging Keywords tab cover?
Phase 4 scans recent Reddit threads, LinkedIn posts and blogs related to your topic and surfaces the top 10 new phrases users have started using. Each row keeps clickable links back to where the phrase was found, plus MSV, KD, intent and ranking data once validated through Ahrefs. The skill drops any row where your client already ranks ≤ 20 — so the tab only shows real, unowned momentum.
What does the output file look like?
A single Excel file with exactly five tabs — Missing Keywords, Weak Keywords, Strong Keywords, Hidden Keywords, and Emerging Keywords — in that order. Each row carries Keyword, MSV, KD, Intent, Client Rank, Client Top URL, plus Rank + Top URL for each of the 3 competitors. No extra summary tabs, no enhancements added.
How is this different from the exports I already get from Ahrefs or Semrush?
Ahrefs and Semrush hand you raw keyword data — thousands of rows you still have to filter, classify and benchmark by hand.
